Ground Systems (GS) employs more than 4,000 people in eight states and multiple field locations in the U.S. and internationally. GS is committed to force protection, from the current force to the future force, and from vehicle systems to individual soldiers.

GS provides combat vehicle systems in major vehicle families - Bradley, M88, AAV, M113, M109 and M9 - that fulfill more than 20 different current force mission roles. As military forces confront threats around the world, GS is supporting the current force with vital enhancements to existing systems and offering new solutions to rapidly meet essential customer needs.

As a key member of the U.S. Army's Future Combat Systems (FCS) Team, GS will help ensure the future success of U.S. soldiers on the battlefield developing and demonstrating five Manned Ground Vehicles that are part of the family of systems for FCS, including support for the Non-Line-of-Sight Cannon in 2008. GS fulfils another key role on FCS as the developer of the Armed Robotic Vehicle in two variants. These critical weapons will be the first in a new line of combat vehicles and systems that will empower soldiers through unmatched firepower, situational awareness and survivability.

GS is also developing and delivering integrated survivability technologies from body armor inserts to active protection systems that provide a new level of soldier survivability and combat vehicle performance.

Engineering Manager for site electrical functions at Sterling Heights. Manages major projects and technology initiatives. This include preparing technical studies, reports, and proposals in support of project development goals. Conceptualizes future products or product enhancements, anticipates future technical trends, including anticipating customers' needs and requirements, and guides technology development.

Manages the electrical engineering function including supervision of electrical staff to insure that project technical requirements are met including performance, schedule, and budget. Manages high level technical studies and tests using appropriate equipment and personnel; researches advanced technologies and recommends applications for current or proposed projects. Conceptualizes, creates, and analyzes designs to ensure engineering projects meet technical, quality, and performance requirements. Negotiates and specifies project objectives to incorporate emerging technologies into products. Guides a systems approach to work performed; resolves conflicts within individual subsystem areas to the benefit of total system performance, cost, quality, and reliability. Develops solutions to complex problems that may result in new combinations of existing knowledge or creation of new processes, products, or services. Uses in-depth technical expertise, analytical and interpretive thinking, and advanced technology/methodology to solve problems that advance the state-of-the-art. Provides expert-level technical consultation and guidance to immediate staff and to all levels of the organization, industry representatives, and external customers. Initiates and maintains external contacts with key experts and officials of other companies, national labs, and government agencies. Researches, writes, and presents technical papers to enhance the company's reputation in the customers' technical community. Contributes to the development of the company's strategic direction through understanding customer needs and priorities, industry and business environment, state-of-the-art technology, and guiding selection of R&D projects that support these initiatives. Prepares, presents, and defends project technical results and recommendations to external customers and internal management. Guides and oversees preparation of technical portions of proposals related to area of specialized expertise. Maintains state-of-the-art familiarity with the latest technology in field, industry practices, trends, and applications to enhance the organization's technical capabilities. Advises senior management on new developments and programs. May perform duties normally associated with supervision including, but not limited to, hiring, training, evaluating, counseling, and disciplining employees. Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies. Shares responsibility for self-development with immediate supervisor.
